Anti-Wrinkle treatments have been used for more than 20 years in the US and the UK, medically and aesthetically. Over the past 20 years anti-wrinkle treatments have become increasingly popular leading to various techniques being enhanced to deliver a treatment with exceptional results.
Botulinum Toxin A is injected in to various muscle in the body to stop signals being sent through the nerves to relax the muscles that cause various wrinkles. As we get older our skin gets damaged from mother nature's elements, with age it loses its elasticity as the collagen depletes (collagen give your skin it’s bounce), which in turn allows your skin to develop lines, wrinkles and indents. Anti-wrinkle injections relaxes the muscles beneath the skin giving a person that flawless look.
Dermal-fillers work well in conjunction with anti-wrinkle injections if clients want more plumping like the lips or works well for the deeper wrinkles. Fillers consist of a synthesised hyaluronic acid that is supported in the collagen skin matrix. Filler, like anti-wrinkle injections are also a non-permanent treatment and will break down over time.
The most common treatment areas for anti-wrinkle injections are:
Once anti-wrinkle injections are administered, the treatment will start to work within a few hours to a few days but in extreme circumstances can take up to 21 days. Everyones body is different and until treatment is administered the reaction time can not be determined. Anti-wrinkle and dermal-fillers are not permanent and can be re-administered every 3-6 months to keep that wrinkle free status. Anti-wrinkle injections are administered many times a day throughout the UK with noticeable effects. Dependant on the strength of the individuals muscles then using injectables over time can release the muscles by weakening them, making it less easier to cause the wrinkles. This will only happen with continued treatments.
To date, there are very little long term side effects with anti-wrinkle & dermal-filler injections, provided it is administered by a qualified practitioner. Most people associate injections with pain and therefore a phobia can develop but with an anti-wrinkle injection the needles are so tiny and at most may cause a localised sting for a second or two. Once treatment has been administered you will be able to carry on with your normal daily routine. Some light bruising may develop at the sight of injection but will dissipate shortly after treatment.
