WHAT ARE ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?

Anti-wrinkle injection treatments have been performed for over 25 years however the result and safety of your treatment lies in the hands of the practitioner. Anti-wrinkle injections are made from a purified protein that when injected into the motor point of the muscle relaxes its function and reduces the depth of fine lines and wrinkles.

At Peppermint Aesthetics, you can rest assured that your wrinkle relaxing treatment will only ever be administered by a registered and highly trained aesthetic nurse injector following a thorough consultation.

We also use Botox the product to treat skin issues such as enlarged pores, scarring, fine lines, wrinkles, general skin appearance and conditions, such as Rosacea. This treatment is known as MicroTox (aka BabyTox).

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?

Lines and wrinkles appear over the years from using our facial muscles for expression, for examples to laugh, smile or frown. The skin overlying these muscles becomes creased. As we get older, changes to our skin through the ageing process cause these creases such as forehead lines, frown lines, smile lines and crows feet which become permanent and visible on our face. Anti-wrinkle injections are for clients who want to reduce and fill in the appearance of fine lines to give a more smooth and youthful look.

Anti-wrinkle injections are also for clients who are suffering from migraines. Anti-wrinkle injections help migraines as it relaxes the muscles in the face which helps with the pain. 

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating which can be reduced and treated with anti-wrinkle injections as it paralyzes the sweat glands and stops excessive sweating in the underarms, palms and other areas.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO WE USE?

Peppermint Aesthetics uses only the best certified products on the market. We use Botox (the product), Azzalure and Alluzience.

Botox is the original botox that came to the market and took the aesthetics industry by storm, which then followed a number of other brands such as Azzalure. Both these products have exceptional reputations for delivering outstanding results that last approx. 3 months.

There is also a new toxin in town called Alluzience that is showing outstanding results that CAN last unto 6 months. This toxin is priced higher per area than the other toxins due to its make-up and the prolonged delivery. Allowing clients to have two treatments per year than the usual four per year, but lifestyle choices can play a part on any treatment outcome.

THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS!

Botulinum Toxin A is a neuromodulator that we use to treat the dynamic muscles of the face or body, only continued use of a toxin can help with the long term damage to the skin and you should never have more than 4 treatments per year.

How you manage your treatment regime is up to you, we never dictate your next treatment. The product licence regardless of the products we use is 12 weeks (3 months). The longevity of each full treatment is dominated by lifestyle choices such as: metabolism, medication, drugs, alcohol, smoking, stress, anxiety, medical issues, along with other choices like high protein diet and heavy gym use.

Here at Peppermint we are all about a more natural look but equally we work with our clients to give the best results. Managing your expectations is key in delivering and meeting your needs.

Although, side effects are very rare (it helps being medically trained and very experienced in using toxins), they can happen. There are a few tricks we can do to help, but rest assured, Toxin side effect don't last forever, they will ware off. Plus, we're on hand if you have any concerns.

Here at Peppermint Aesthetics no staff are currently Independent Prescribers but are medically trained to carry out this treatment.
