This revolutionary treatment can be used anywhere in the body to enhance and promote growth within a treated area. The best part is, we use your own product called blood. We take some blood and separate some of the material in a high concentrate and then reintroduce it to a specific area. The results are very beneficial and can make a huge difference to your skins appearance and other problematic areas.
Here at Peppermint we have been trained by the best in the PRP business, Dr Daniel Sister who is one of the best platelet-rich-plasma specialist in the world with quite an impressive CV.
This treatment is progressively evolving all around the world, used in cutting edge technology, break through science, surgery and now the aesthetics industry because of its results. We use specially designed syringe kits for each treatment which allows us to gain the highest quantity and quality of platelet concentrate to deliver excellent results.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections target damaged cells with concentrated platelets from your own blood. These platelets are used in clotting and tissue healing, and so are used to speed up recovery.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma therapy used for?
Platelet Rich Plasma is taken from your own blood so the treatment has very low side effects and is used to treat a multitude of areas. We can use it for the following procedures:
Other treatment areas are male and female genitals called the P-Shot or the O-Shot.
Is PRP good for hair loss?
PRP therapy is regularly used in hair restoration with good outcomes for both men and women. Growth factors in your blood cells do the job of naturally stimulating hair follicles.
How long does PRP last for hair loss?
We recommend a course of up to 3/4 treatments, 4 weeks apart. Then, maintenance treatments 6-9months.
Is PRP treatment safe?
PRP is an especially safe treatment option with no risk of allergic reaction because it is your own blood. However, anytime a needle is placed in the body, there is a risk of infection, bleeding, and nerve damage, but this is extremely rare. To date we have not experienced any major side effects! We preform this treatment under sterile conditions!
How long does it take to recover from platelet-rich plasma?
The recovery time from Platelet Rich Plasma treatment is usually a couple of hours. The redness following the treatment normally settles within the hour. Most patients feel more than comfortable carrying about their normal business the same day following PRP treatment.
Is PRP treatment effective?
High amounts of good quality evidence-based medicine support the treatment of PRP, along with its efficacy and success. This evidence exists in many different areas of treatment including; surgery, skin cosmetics, hair restoration, along with being commonly used in sports medicine and orthopaedics. It is also worth noting that research takes time and is expensive, but this being said further solid research is being produced regularly. Particularly, the treatment of PRP versus standard conventional drug treatments.
How many treatment will I need?
This depends on what you are trying to achieve. The most treated area of the body is the face and this treatment is extremely effective. Since offering this treatment here at Peppermint we have undertaken many treatments on a variety of clients. Here at Peppermint we do not like to waste our clients money and this treatment is one of our best but everyone has to start somewhere.
We recommend 2-3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. The first treatment sets the foundation, the second treatment builds up the structure and the third helps with ironing out the imperfections (or puts you on the right track).
Once the three treatments are completed you may feel you want another (depends on the condition of the skin) but the results can last approx 12-18 months but generally to save starting the ground work again it's recommended to have a treatment every 6-8 months to keep on top of things to help fight against age, gravity, depleting collagen, elasticity and sagging skin from depleting fat pads under the skin.
